Combination Portfolio
A nimble program for smaller portfolios, this actively managed program is comprised of individual stocks and no-load mutual funds. By buying mutual funds, we achieve greater diversification. KPP has a guideline – to not buy more than 3 percent of any one stock. So 3 percent of $100K is only $3,000. Because the dollar limit eliminates the ability to buy the higher priced stocks, we use mutual funds to make sure the portfolio is not overly weighted in either cash or lower priced stocks. At times this portfolio may short the market. It is worth noting that KPP principals are also invested in this program and that they practice “Parallel Investing” meaning their assets are invested in the same equities as their clients.
